There are many type of central heating boiler

Several types of Central Heating Systems are available in the heating market. Most of them consist of a set of heating heating radiators, a gas boiler and copper pipework.

Due to the average temperature that is seen across the UK and northern Europe , people barely find the need for air conditioning. In fact, a decent heating system is a necessity in these regions, and due to this, a majority of new houses have a Gas Central Heating system.

A reliable Gas Central Heating system is important to keep your house warm especially during winter months. A heated home has a comfortable and enjoyable feel to it. Your Gas Central Heating System needs to be reliable. It should be durable, easy to use and completely safe.

Pumped/vented and sealed are the two main types of Gas Central Heating Systems on the market.

Pumped/vented systems are the most frequent. The basic differentiating components of such a system are a feed and expansion tank. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the heating radiators. The expansion tank has adequate space to accommodate any water expansion that occurs due to heat. The expansion tank is placed at highest spot to help create water pressure. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.

A lot of older homes have pumped/vented Central Heating systems.

A Sealed Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. No water tanks are needed for a Sealed system as it is a completely closed setup saving space. The attic has no tanks or piping, the system is completely enclosed and locked, it’s not ventilated, and that has its advantages:.

- There is no chance of pipes freezing in the attic.

- attic space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.

- The risk of leaks is decreased.

- Reduced risk of airlocks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.

- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if necessary.

The sealed Gas Central Heating system is a fully packaged system with all the controls and safety devices already in place. No tank feeds a sealed system, the supply comes directly from the mains. It is plumbed straight into the main water supply.

A pressure vessel containing compressed gas, which is kept separate from the sealed system by a diaphragm, is used to allow any pressure variations. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.

Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
