We should all prepare for the winter months as the weather gets colder and the days shorter by having good gas central heating in our homes. Heating your house will make it a relaxing and cosy place to be, so therefore you need a reliable and economical central heating system.
The typical central heating system has copper pipework, radiators and a gas heating boiler and it is basically of two types, vented or a pumped system.
Pumped systems are more common, they have a feed and an expansion tank, another hot water tank is the core of the system, it stores hot water as it heats up and then uses the pipes to transfer heat to the radiators. Due to heat, the water in the tank expands and fills it up.
The vented gas central heating system, on the other hand, is a sealed system, and it doesn’t have the centre section. It is basically a closed system, and for this reason, there is no need of water tanks. The major benefits from this type of system, is that it basically lessens the risk of leaking and stops other potential problems such airlocks, one of the better benefits, especially for colder countries is that there is no risk of pipes freezing up.
You may ask why you need gas central heating and what are its benefits?.
The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire home or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Traditional heaters like gas fires, electric heaters and storage heaters are also quite effective. But these produced uncomfortable humidity and a horrible smell.
With gas central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your central heating system will require regular maintenance. A lot of houses switch them off during the warm summer months and as soon as a cold snap hits, they then switch them on, this should not be done. It is more prudent to routinely switch on the system in autumn as wintertime approaches, so that any hitches can be repaired by summoning a central heating expert well in time.
You should also keep in mind that most households gas central heating systems can let air or dirt into it, therefore they need yearly draining. The best way to do it is to keep a bucket under the valve, and slowly open it to allow all the water to come out; before closing the valve, ensure that no more water is coming out.
